Knitting is a craft that involves preparing a nice fabric with the help of yarn and wool. It's been passed thorough many generations and primarily it's practiced at home. It has quite simple mechanics that usually results in a gorgeous product. It however differs from crochet, for instance in crotchet we only use a single needle while two needles are required in knitting. The other difference is that in crotchet, multiple stitches are normally in use at the same time.

However, there are two types of knitting i.e. weft versus wrap and Flat versus circular.

In weft, a zigzag design of yarn all over the fabric length follows to the adjacent columns instead of rows. However, in wrap knitting a zigzag design follows all over the length of the cloth in adjacent rows instead of columns. In flat verses circular, in circular you get flawless tube which is used to cast the circles of stitches which are joint. Nevertheless, in flat the fabric is knitted from interchanged sides which eventually becomes the right side in the flat stitching.

Tools such as needles, ancillary tools and so on helps you knit the type of fabric you desire. Yarn can also be used to act as thread of the fabric. Note however that when you use different stitches you'll definitely get a different pattern as the end product.
